Full-time member of the Peruvian Psychiatric Association, Latin American Psychiatric Association and World Psychiatric Association. International Member of The American Psychiatric Association (APA). 

Senior consultant GP, psychiatrist, entheogenic & psychedelic psychotherapist, cannabis physician, medical herbalist and medical acupuncturist.

My training was at the Tianjin International University of Modern and Traditional Medicine and Pharmacology, Teaching Hospitals No.1 and No.2, afilliated clinics to the university and Tianjin Nankai Hospital of Integrated Medicine - MBBS, both specializing in modern and traditional Medicine.

Likewise, I completed a PhD in History of Medicine at Faculty of Medical Studies, the Open University in Sri Lanka. Further concluded additional research and clinical studies in Medicine and Psychiatry, leading to a Doctorate in Medicine (MD) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychiatry (sub-specialty in Integrated and Transcultural and Transpersonal Clinical Psychiatry) at Tianjin Medical University, WHO Centre for Integrative Medicine, Tianjin An Ding Psychiatric Hospital and Tianjin Mental Health Centre under the tutelage of Academician Professor Wu Xian Zong., WHO expert.

In addition, I began my shamanic journey with Ayahuasca and other Amazonian and Andean master plants in 1987 with the Secoya Amazonian Amerindians in the Putumayo River region of Colombia. From there, I spent time periodocally among different Amazonian Amerindian tribes, beginning with the Tsachilas, Canelos-Quichua, and Shuar, Achuar in Ecuador. Later I moved to Peru where I carried out ethnomedical-botanical research among native Amazonian tribes of Ese Eja, Harambut, Huachipaeri, Matchigenga, Yanesha, Ashaninka, Shipibo-Conibo, Kapanawa, Awajun and Huambisa for many years. In the Brazilian Amazon I stayed with the Kashinawa for a year.

I currently have a licensed clinical practice in psychiatry and holistic medicine in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. I also continue to conduct field research on medicinal, depurative, dietary and entheogenic plants and other natural substances in the coastal, Andean and Amazon regions of Peru. I am very active within the medical community and having good relationships with university researchers in the Peruvian Amazon.

I have lived and worked in various countries and cultures around the world including the UK, Denmark, Austria, Italy, China, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, Japan, South Korea, India, Nepal, Mongolia, Vietnam, Thailand, South Africa, Canada, the United States, Australia, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, which allows me a broad understanding of the transcultural and transpersonal aspects of medicine, psychology and psychiatry.
